I was talking by email with one of the group today and she was unsure about what her blog could be – I suggested the following site by Tan Kian Ann which gives 10 practical ways to use a blog…. wish I’d found it earlier to share with the group.

Am trying to find my way around the sites – testing my patience somewhat. I have to admit I am not a natural when it comes to writing down my thoughts in diary form. However,I’m open to learning!

Yay – lovely to see you here hojojo…. I think few of us are natural journallers – I’d rather sit and talk about it… but I’m slowly getting there and it is interesting to read something and then to write my comments or thoughts to the world!

I am going to struggle to share my thoughts publicly as I tend to talk in my head. I think I know what I want to say and then when the screen or paper is in front of me I go blank. However, when it comes to writing reports etc for work, I have no problem. I guess I just need a particular focus or reason for writing something.

I shared some of the same feelings Jo as I worked out sometime ago when I tried to write journals that by the time I got to put the ideas on the paper, I had already worked through the issue in my head, and sometimes in discussion with others – so what I wrote felt like naff stuff!
I think the shift for me is thinking about what I’d like to write so that others are prompted to think… that’s certainly taken away some of the block for me… and has given me the reason for writing. You are right – you need to find the focus and then the writing may come easier for you – we should also try creating audio files one session as well – as some people do prefer to talk rather than to write.
Also go back to the start of this posting and Tan Kian Ann’s 10 reasons for keeping a blog – perhaps yours could be just a place for bringing together all the resources you find for inclusive education for example. Then you don’t need so much to share your internal thinking as much as create an avenue to assist others to find the information that you already have – make sense?
